Patch’s Grove (Woods of Woe)

Illustration

Patches of Light is a nonprofit organization that raises money for critically and terminally ill children and their families. Their mascot is a skunk named Patch because their slogan is sickness stinks. They wanted me to come up with an illustration that would represent Patch leading the children through troubled times. We came up with the idea of him leading them through some scary woods to a better place Patch’s Grove. I started with some rough thumbnail sketches, then a line drawing, and a color comp before moving to the final illustration.
