I was comissioned to create this enchanting illustration of a baby mermaid as a special gift for a newborn niece and her family. Their request was for an illustration that would captivate her young imagination and be a an artwork she would chrish for years to come. The concept was to depict the little mermaid Coral, playing with her fish friends in a beautiful coral garden. This art work was created as a digital painting, which was printed on canvas, and then refined with delicate oil paint touches.
